CONTEXT
Community Park remodelling meets socio-ecological transition
Year 2023
Client City of Montreal, South-West Borough
Service Public Consultation
During the consultations, we provided discussion spaces to welcome the diverse perspectives of the participants. Local partners and residents shared their realities, needs, ideas, and aspirations for the future of the park.
OUR ROLE
Percolab provided public consultations creating an inclusive and accessible environment for individuals passing through the park, or those with specific needs traditionally underrepresented in public participation processes to engage in activities, participate and share ideas for the remodelling of Parc Campbell Ouest.
A radically creative process WITH three phases
01 – ONLINE QUESTIONNAIRE
A varied questionnaire collecting data on the current use of the park and desired changes, gathering resident perspectives in an accessible, engaging, and simple manner.
02 – PARTNER CONSULTATION
Highlighting key aspects that could inform the following public consultation activities with the help of local partners representing various groups in the community.
03 – COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
Providing a space for listening and engaging discussions to encourage participation from local residents, using park maps to collect ideas and suggestions for remodelling.
CONTEXT
The participatory approach to the redevelopment of Campbell West Park revealed numerous perspectives and experiences regarding its use. Consultations with citizens and local partners facilitated dynamic and engaging exchanges, thanks to the strong involvement of participants.
The ideas gathered were then integrated into the development plan that will guide to remodelling work. The common dream is to make the park a place that is representative, inclusive, and accessible to all neighbourhood residents.
