Percolab Coop’s Truth and Reconciliation Pledge

Percolab adopts the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a reconciliation framework and commits to applying its principles, norms, and standards to corporate policy and core operational activities involving Indigenous peoples and their lands and resources.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  1. We understand that decolonization is for everyone. We each engage in a personal process of decolonization, and we bravely bring this into our work.
  2. We bring horizontal ways of functioning everywhere. Decolonization is about relational, caring and inclusive ways of working, governing and operating.
  3. We take responsibility for educating ourselves. This includes indigenous worldviews, knowledge systems, ways of being, history, treaties, and Truth and Reconciliation.
  4. We actively reconnect with nature and the land. We courageously bring reconnection to nature to our work and initiatives. We are ALL related.
  5. We actively learn from and with indigenous communities. We develop relationships with indigenous individuals, businesses, and communities.
  6. We work with indigenous communities. We actively bring in indigenous contractors, participants and partners, even when it takes more time.
  7. We help indigenous communities shine. We highlight indigenous worldviews, knowledge, and thought leaders in our articles and communications.
  8. We explore indigenous ways of being in the modern work world. As a lab, we experiment, develop, and share indigenous ways of being in the workplace.

Percolab Coop in Montreal, Canada adopted our Truth and Reconciliation Pledge on January, 30th 2023. This pledge is meant to challenge and push us. It is not perfect, but a humble 1st version that we can lean on in our journey. We expect to experience discomfort, errors and rich learnings as we live this commitment. It is based on Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, Namely Call to Action 92 for Business and reconciliation.

*Temporary photo while we search for an Indigenous artist to create something that reflects this pledge, if you know someone who you think could create something please get in contact.
