Operating for over a century the St. Albert Cheese Cooperative is collectively owned by some 50 producers. Due for a new strategic plan, the Cooperative wanted it to be light, participatory, and make the most of its members collective experience and intelligence. It invited percolab to accompany it in this process because of our ease and experience with collective intelligence processes and strategic planning.
A diagnostic day enabled us to better understand the issues at stake and design an effective process of work sessions that invited members to deepen their thinking around issues and develop appropriate strategies. The Cooperative’s members seemed to adjust naturally to collective intelligence methods. Follow-up conversations revealed that participants were generally surprised at how successful and enjoyable the process was.
