For the past year, percolab has been working with Dr. Janis Timm-Bottos of Concordia University on the Art Hive Project: the idea that creating small, local spaces which welcome everyone to make art for free helps create healthier, happier people and communities. Over the past twenty years Janis has opened six Art Hives and really taken the time to study what makes these spaces special and how they work.
The Recent History of Art Hives project is a hand-made theatre, based on the panoramic “cranky” theatres, that tells the story of the Canadian network of Art Hives (www.arthives.org).
